TrendMiner 2022.R1.1

15 July 2022

To upgrade your TrendMiner setup to this version, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Version 2022.R1.1 includes the following new features and improvements:

New features

  • 1-click option to add an item to a new or existing dashboard making it easier to extend your existing dashboards with your latest analysis, or directly create a new dashboard.
  • Saved filters are taken into account on TrendHub View tiles: trend tiles now also display the greyed-out filter periods, and the scatter plot (or histogram) tiles will be plotted based on non-filtered data.
  • Time navigation bar in Gantt view to easily manipulate the time span you wish to analyze.

Application Enhancements

  • Search results indications: Search results are displayed at the bottom of the context bar.
  • Advanced Similarity Search: The advanced options allows you to search a pattern of one tag in the history of another tag.
  • Context Item Search – Layering improvements: Select and remember which attribute to visualize when the search result is linked to an asset.
  • Filtering on empty/nonempty values in ContextHub to filter not only based on specific values, but also on empty or non-empty values to, for example, Identify missing information.
  • Improved information messages with more options and possibilities to keep the message visible by hovering on it or to click away a message immediately.

Known limitations

  • The cross asset value based search is not available in TrendHub Next Generation.
  • After restoring a backup, the tm-zeppelin and the tm-zementis service need to be restarted manually.
  • Scooter values may change when zooming in after adding the scooter. This is because scooters currently interpolate the data points on the chart.
  • When calculated tags are deleted, they cannot be created with the same name again.
  • Cloning a notebook will result in a copy of the notebook. The paragraphs of the copied notebook are still interlinked with the paragraphs of the original notebook. The "linked" paragraphs of both notebooks may be refreshed/updated based on the other notebook resulting in undesired behavior. It is advised to copy/paste your code manually for now.
  • Renaming a tag in the tag builder is not supported if the tag is linked to a Context item.
  • The Action displayed on the right-side panel of ConfigHub when service was restarted is not visible anymore.

Important:   As from 2022.R1.0 release onwards

  • Active support* for Internet Explorer 11 browsers has been dropped, support for Microsoft Edge browser has been added instead.
  • We recommend to upgrade your underlying disks from HDD, 125MB/s to SSD, 250MB/s to guarantee user performance.

* users will still be able to use IE11 with TrendMiner, but new features might no longer work + IE11 specific bugs/issues will no longer be solved. In a later stage, existing functionalities will also be adjusted to no longer have to cope with the restrictions of IE11.

Search Results Indications on the Context Chart.

The search results indications on the context chart are back!

Results for all searches are not only displayed in the result list, but they are also shown as an indication at the bottom of the context bar. Each highlight of the context bar corresponds with search results.

The search indications are only visible when the search menu is open.

The highlights are redrawn when the context bar timespan is adjusted. This allows you to zoom in on a specific period of interest.

Advanced Similarity Search

The advanced similarity search option allows you to search for a pattern occurring in one tag/attribute (source tag) in another tag (target tag). This makes it possible to search cross-assets. For example, if you find a pattern of interest for tag/attributes of reactorA you could check if the pattern also occurs in similar tags/attributes of reactorB.

Context Item Search – Layering improvements

Search results from a context item search can be linked to an asset which on its own can be linked to multiple attributes.

When visualizing such a result you will have the option to select which attributes to add to the focus chart.

When selecting attributes, you have the option to remember your preferences for the current search session. If you choose to remember your preferences, you do not need to reselect your choices when adding a search result for the same asset.

Make it easy to add an item to a dashboard

Further options to quickly add an item to a new or existing dashboard have been added. These options can be found at following locations:

  • TrendHub view bar.
  • ContextHub view bar.
  • In the monitor tab behind the three-dotted-options button.
  • On each of the existing tiles already present on another dashboard.
    • Here you can choose to make a copy or to add it to new dashboard.

Filtering on empty/nonempty values in ContextHub

When configuring a filter in ContextHub, you can now choose to filter not only based on specific values, but also on empty or non-empty values.
We have introduced this feature to the following filters:
 - Component filter
 - Description filter
 - Keyword filter
 - Current state filter
 - Custom numeric context field filter
 - Custom string context field filter
 - Custom dropdown context field filter

Note: A value is considered empty if it is either null or an empty string. Filtering on empty or non-empty values for components is currently not supported in Gantt view.

Time navigation bar in Gantt view

In the Gantt chart, you can now easily manipulate the time span you wish to analyze using the navigation bar, positioned at the bottom of the chart.

Lock button: Use this button to lock the currently selected time span.

Undo button: Reverses the last action made in the Navigation bar.

Arrow (left / right) icons: In regular (unlocked) navigation mode, these buttons add 20% of the current window size. When the time span is locked, the buttons move the chart (left/right) also by 20%.

Date and time pickers: Use these buttons to select the start and end time of the Gantt chart.

Fixed span selection: By selecting the time span picker, you open the option to apply preset time frames to the Gantt chart, to enable a quick and straightforward way to frame the time span you wish to analyze. These time frames include 1hr, 2hrs, 8hrs a day and so on. Included in this time frame selection menu is the possibility to enter specific time periods. Simply select the exact period you wish to see displayed in the Gantt chart, and press enter. The period picker also enables the manual input of a period from weeks down to seconds. To input a period simply use M for month, w for week, d for day, h for hour, m for minute and S for second.

For example, for a period of 1 week, 2 hours, 2 minutes, and 10 seconds, simply input the following: 1w 3h 2m 10s, then press enter. Once you press enter, the Gantt chart expands or contracts to the time period you requested.

Note: Changing the type of time filter and then using the undo button, will revert the type of time filter back to the original option. For example, if you have the time filter set to “Event open” and then decide to change it to “Event open in range (from, to)”, using the “Undo” button will revert the type of filter back to “Event open”.
