TH NextGen - Stacked plot and grouping

Stacked plot

The stacked trend plot is the default visualisation mode. The purpose of the stacked trend option is to separate plots of each tag so that a clearer view of each trend can be visualized. This also enables the easy and effective comparison of each tag, providing a more flexible and satisfactory experience when comparing data.

Axis labels on the stacked trend plot are situated to the top left of each tag lane. The value indicators are situated on the axis ruler itself. When you move the ruler across the plots, the values of each lane are so that you can read the y value at any moment of time.

Using the trend view icon at the center base of the chart, it is possible to opt for a trend plot of tags and attributes as well as the normal scatter plot and stacked trend view.

  • Visualise your tags of interest, at least two tags need to be visible, in the tags menu.
  • Navigate to the desired time period you want to use for plotting.

Grouping

The stacked plot provides a clear overview of each tag or attribute displayed in vertical series within the focus chart. However, when you have tags with similar datasets you might want to group the data to get that closer comparison.

Tag labels can be grabbed and moved to other positions within the stacked plot. They can also be grouped with other tags.

To group tags and attributes:

1. Click and hold the label of the tag of interest.

2. Drag your tag to beside a second tag label you wish to group. A dotted line box will appear and you should drop your dragged tag label within the box. The two tags will automatically group

Note: By default the min and max value of the first tag of the group is used. It is possible that a tag is no longer visible if there is a high difference in scale between tags.

Dragging tags or attributes onto each other (within the focus chart) will create a tag group. In the active tag list there is a group header that appears when tags have been grouped together. All tags in this group are shown on the same scale. Axis labels appear grouped in the focus chart and a colored line appears in front of the tags and attributes in the active tags and attributes list when the groups are created. The colored line of the group is set to the same color of the first tag in the group.

Note: Creating a group is not possible in the tags & attributes list, but the option to add more tags & attributes to an existing group is possible.

Scales under the grouped header can be set to automatic or manually set. When tags are ungrouped, the scales fall back to their previous set values.

Your newly grouped work can be saved:

  1. Click on the "Actions" button situated at the top right of the chart.
  2. Click on the "Save as" option. A "Save view" panel will appear from the right.
  3. Fill in the detail fields.
  4. Click "Save view".

To ungroup the tags, simple drag and drop the chosen tag label and reposition the label with the series displayed. It is also possible to ungroup tags within the tags menu list.

  1. Click on the 3 vertical dots right of the Group title.
  2. Click on "Ungroup all".

Zoom in, unzoom, filling and gridlines

Zooming in is an option on the chart, and can be done when dragging across your chart. The zoom option will be shown next to the selection

The undo zoom functionality will undo any time navigation or zoom action performed. The undo zoom option can be found in the center bottom of the focus chart.
