Tiles are visual displays that can be set to your DashHub dashboard. There are seven types of tiles:
- ContextHub View tile
- TrendHub View tile
- Monitor / Alert tiles
- External content tile
- Text tile
- Notebook Output tile
- Current Value tile
The tiles provide the content of your dashboard. Each tile is linked to a view created in TrendHub, ContextHub or a TrendHub Monitor, and enables you to bring all your views and monitors of interest together at one location.
ContextHub view tile
The ContextHub view tile enables you to visualize context data based on a saved context view. After selecting this type of tile in the "Create new tile" side panel and specifying the desired context view, a display mode can be chosen. There are three different display modes, each with their specific purpose:
- Count
The display mode "count" simply displays the number of context items within a certain context view in a clear way. This could be used, for example, to monitor event types that represent critical issues, or keep track of the number of batches produced by a production line over a given time period. - Table
The "table" display mode allows you to directly embed a ContextHub table into DashHub. The table configuration (columns, sorting, etc.) is directly inherited from the corresponding context view. You can interact directly with context items in the table, as clicking on any row in the table will open the context item detail panel. - Gantt
Similar to the "table" display mode, the "Gantt" display mode will directly embed a ContextHub Gantt chart into DashHub. The Gantt configuration (timeframe, pinned rows, etc.) is directly inherited from the corresponding context view. You can interact directly with the context items on the chart, as clicking on any item will open the context item detail panel.
Note: Some display modes are only available if the selected view meets certain criteria. The "Gantt" display mode is only available if the selected view contains a component filter.
Creating a new context tile
- Start a new or open an existing dashboard.
- Click on the action button towards the top right corner of the dashboard bar, to add a new tile.
- A side panel appears from the right side of the screen.
- Select tile type "ContextHub view".
- Add a title of your choice. By default, it takes the name from the view.
- Click the "Choose a view" to open the work organizer, and choose a view.
- Select the context view of your choice.
- Select the display mode of your choice (count, table or Gantt).
- Click the "Add new tile" button to add it to the dashboard.
TrendHub view tile
Trend tiles display the graphic content normally seen in a TrendHub view. This includes, trend plots, stack plots and scatter plots. The view is inclusive of TrendHub display options, for example, grid lines, context items and trendline filling options.
How to create a Trend Tile
Having opened a new or current dashboard in DashHub
- As with the context tile, start with a new or saved dashboard and click the "Action" button in the dashboard bar.
- Click the "Create new tile" panel is shown on the righthand side of the screen.
- Select “TrendHub view”.
- Fill in a title (optional) and click the “Choose” action to open the work organizer side panel.
- Choose the desired trend view and confirm.
- To add the tile to the dashboard, click the “Add new tile” button at the bottom of the side panel.
Open trend tile in TrendHub
- Click the blue “View” button on the right side of the dashboard bar.
- Click the three vertical dots icon situated top right of your trend tile and select the option "View in TrendHub".
OR - Click the title of the trend tile.
Monitoring / Alert tiles
An alert tile enables you to check visually the state of your TrendHub monitors based on the criteria you set. When a monitor alert is triggered, the resumption of a "Normal status" will see the trigger reset.
You can create an alert tile in DashHub that provides a visual trigger when prescribed limits are exceeded.
For example, if a water tank level is low, you can create a tile that is connected to a monitor specifically set up to read water levels. When the limit has been exceeded, the trigger is released, and the visual alert is updated.
Creating a monitor tile
- Start a new or open a saved dashboard and click the “Action” button on the dashboard bar.
- The “Create new tile” panel is shown on the righthand side of the screen.
- Provide a tile name and select a monitor by clicking the dropdown field.
- Provide visual definitions with icons and colors for the normal state (no search result) and the trigger state (search result).
- To add the tile to the dashboard, click the “Add new tile” button at the bottom of the side panel.
Note: When a monitor is not enabled in the monitoring tab in the top bar (accessible in any hub), the associated monitor tile will indicate the loss of connection.
Note: Your tile has a clickthrough to the monitor functionality, but only when the monitor is triggered. The clickthrough leads you to TrendHub at the timeframe where the monitor was triggered.
Note: Only monitors based on a value based search and operating area search can be selected as an alert tile. Monitors based on fingerprints, similarity search and digital step search are not yet available.
External content tile
The external content tile allows you to visualize embeddable content from outside of TrendMiner into DashHub.
Creating an external content tile:
- Start with a new or saved dashboard and click the "Action" button in the dashboard bar.
- The "Create new tile" panel is shown on the righthand side of the screen.
- Select the tile with type "External content".
- Add a title of your choice. This is optional.
- When the option is enabled for your user, an URL can be added in the settings of the tile.
Note: Domains from which external content is allowed to be embedded need to be specified by a ConfigHub administrator. By clicking on the information icon next to “External URL”, you can see which domains have been allowed within your organization.
- To add the tile to the dashboard, click the “Add new tile” button at the bottom of the side panel. The newly created current value tile will be displayed on the dashboard.
Warning: TrendMiner is not responsible for external content. Your ConfigHub administrator can determine which domains are allowed for use in external content tiles. Always look specifically for an embeddable URL in the source application or website.
Text tile
The text tile is an important element of your dashboard. You can use it to display short or long texts, presented in a visually contrasting way. This tile type looks different from other tiles because it "loses" its background colour when in view mode. By doing this, maximum space is afforded to display tile content.
Creating a text tile
The text tile can be found in the list when creating a new tile.
Once a text tile is confirmed in the side panel using the "Add new tile" button, an empty tile is added with some guidance to add text.
Clicking "Add text" in the tile or using the option "Edit text content" will show a modal where you can add, adjust and remove formatting.
